Rick Santorum's Jewish student days

A devout Catholic running for the Republican nomination might be an unlikely candidate for membership of a Jewish club.

But Rick Santorum, the latest presidential hopeful to surge in the polls, was apparently once part of a Jewish fraternity.

According to its website, as noticed by Tablet magazine, he was part of the Penn State university chapter of the Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity.

Gym uses Auschwitz image as good place to burn calories

A British gym owner who posted an advert for his Dubai fitness centre suggesting Auschwitz was a good place to burn calories has apologised.

Phil Parkinson, founder of The Circuit Factory said he “posted it without giving it my full attention.”

Chile forest fire arrest revives old anti-Jewish theories

Antisemitic conspiracy theories have appeared on Chilean websites following the arrest of an Israeli tourist in connection with a devastating forest fire.

Rotem Singer, 23, has been questioned by police for allegedly starting the blaze at the Torres del Paine national park by failing to extinguish burning toilet paper.

The photographer, who counted among her subjects Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor, was the daughter of a rabbi who immigrated to the US from Odessa.

Fox apologises for 'did Jews kill Jesus' survey

A television network has issued an apology after it asked viewers whether they thought the Jews were to blame for the death of Jesus.

Fox Latin America ran a poll on its Facebook page asking people to choose between Pontius Pilate, the High Priests and the Jewish People.

Jewish newspaper launched in Germany

Lego concentration camp sold to Polish museum

A Polish museum has purchased a controversial replica of a concentration camp – made of Lego.

Zbigniew Libera enraged the toy company in 1996 when he built a miniature version of a Nazi death camp using Lego’s signature colourful bricks. The set featured Lego crematoria and barracks, barbed-wire fences and miniature guards and skeletons, all marked with the company’s name.
