Ten days after Israeli diplomats were targeted in India the United Nations has issued a condemnation.

Tal Yehoshua-Koren, the wife of an Israeli diplomat, was injured when an explosive device was attached to an embassy car.

In the wake of the attack and two other botched attempts in Thailand and Georgia, Israel's ambassador to the UN, Ron Prosor, called for the Security Council "to issue a clear condemnation today, without any further delay or equivocation".

On Thursday the Security Council broke its silence on the matter, stating: "any acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable regardless of their motivations, whenever and by whomsoever committed."

Mr Prosor said: "After seven years of silence, the Council has finally spoken against the terrorism that the Israeli people face every day."

Iranian operatives have been accused of being behind all three attacks.
