New York synagogue bomb plotters sentenced
The bombers planted devices outside the Riverdale Jewish Centre
A trio behind a plot to bomb a Bronx synagogue in 2009 have been given 25-year-sentences by a federal judge in the United States.
The FBI intercepted the plans before the men, James Cromitie, David Williams and Onta Williams, could carry them out.
Undercover agents gave the men fake bombs so that when they came to plant the devices in two cars by the synagogue, there was no explosion.
The plotters were convicted last year of planning to destroy the synagogue and conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction.
They were also convicted of planning to use Stinger missiles to shoot down military planes at a New York airbase
The judge who handed out the sentence referred to the defendants' hatred for Jews.
