A Jewish-owned clothes store in Radlett was inundated with paparazzi after Britain’s Got Talent runner-up Susan Boyle came in for some retail therapy, on the recommendation of her Jewish doctor.
Ms Boyle was taken to Lulu & Fred by her private doctor, Dr Sarah Lotzof, just hours after coming out of a private clinic in north London after suffering what was reported as being a breakdown, following her defeat in the final of the ITV reality television show two weeks ago.
Freddie Benisty, who founded the store 18 months ago with his mother Louise, said Ms Boyle “arrived with her doctor at about 12.30pm and “at first seemed a bit nervous, but then relaxed and enjoyed trying on items from the shop.”
The 21-year-old former Immanuel College pupil added: “There were about 30 paparazzi outside the store and at 1.45pm she happily went outside and posed for a couple of minutes. She seemed okay when she came back in and happily continued her shopping.”
Mr Benisty, who was forced to close the store so Ms Boyle could shop in private, added that the 48-year-old spent “a lot of money, including a matching Eli Tahari trousers and top”, as well as other big designers names including Majestic, Twin Set and Hand Written.
