Review for Rabbinate Trust

The United Synagogue is seeking to review the structure of the Chief Rabbinate Trust, the charitable body set up seven years ago to oversee the office of the Chief Rabbi. It superseded the Chief Rabbinate Council which was responsible for appointing new chief rabbis.

Although it is important for the US to maintain good relations with the Masorti, Reform and Liberals, it is possibly even more important to maintain contact with the Federation, the Adass, the Union and independent orthodox kehillohs. The Chief Rabbi must be able to speak for as wide a group as possible.
