Documentary to be made about Csanad Szegedi
A UK-based production company is to make a documentary about Csanad Szegedi, the Hungarian politician who stood down from the antisemitic Jobbik party after he discovered he was Jewish.
Mr Szegedi, a member of the European Parliament, was asked to leave the party when he revealed that his grandmother was an Auschwitz survivor
The documentary, which is being made by AJH Films, will show how he has reconsidered his extremist views.
Alex Holder, managing director of AJH Films, said: “Szegedi’s politics were characterised by his antisemitic and anti-Roma comments. We have access to him as a man who believed in all of that, only to discover he was Jewish, and now we can show how his feelings have changed.”
The film is planned for release early next year.
