New York man beaten and mugged during Hurricane Sandy

A Jewish man from Brooklyn was beaten and mugged during Hurricane Sandy.

The gang of five took advantage of the empty streets and attacked the man at 7pm on Monday.

The attackers kicked their victim repeatedly and knocked him unconscious. While the man was lying on the ground bleeding, the five stole his wallet and phone.

The victim was taken to hospital.

'Jewish Indiana Jones' sentenced to prison for fraud

Rabbi Menachem Youlus, known as ‘the Jewish Indiana Jones', was sentenced to 51 months in prison for fraud in a Manhattan federal court on Thursday.

Rabbi Youlus, father of nine from Maryland, was charged with pocketing $1.2 million from donations that had been made to his charity ‘Save the Torah’.
