Geneva Convention: another global forum for Israel-bashing

After the Holocaust, the world met in Geneva to affirm the laws of war. And last week, for only the third time in history, the UK, France, Germany and another 123 signatory states to the Fourth Geneva Convention assembled to call out a perpetrator.

And for the third time, the one they condemned was Israel.

Palestinians push back UN statehood bid

The Palestinian Authority is planning to postpone its attempt to secure a UN timetable for the unilateral establishment of a Palestinian state.

Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki told Ma'an news agency on Monday that the decision had been delayed due to the difficulty of reaching the necessary majority in the Security Council and American pressure.

UN to vote on recognition of Yom Kippur

The United Nations will start debating this month whether Yom Kippur should be an official UN holiday after ambassadors from 32 nations signed a letter in support of the cause.

Countries including America, Canada and Uruguay have formally asked the UN General Assembly committee that Yom Kippur stand alongside Christmas and the end of Ramadan on the UN calendar.
