As a Jewish university student, I was disappointed and frustrated when I first heard about the UJS's new "Liberation" campaign.

Having spoken to many other Jewish students, including those involved with running the various JSocs on campuses across London, I have found that I am not alone in feeling incredibly let down and alienated by this latest UJS decision.

UJS 'lacks backbone': Schochet

A leading Orthodox rabbi believes Jewish students do not have the "backbone" to tackle anti-Israel activity on campuses.

Rabbi Yitzchak Schochet said the Union of Jewish Students "must stop playing the victim" and unite against "radicalism and fundamentalism" at British universities.

Union of Jewish Students shows commitment to peace

The Union of Jewish Students is to launch a "radical, progressive" campaign, encouraging students to speak up for the rights of both Israelis and Palestinians.

Jewish students arriving at universities in the next fortnight will be asked to pledge their support to "two states for two peoples", hand out Israeli and Palestinian flags, and support "freedom, justice and equality" for all.

Mason joins the Forum

Jewish groups urge release of Baha'i academics in Iran

Iran's detention of 11 Baha'i academics has been condemned by the Board of Deputies and Union of Jewish Students.

British Jews have repeatedly raised concerns about the treatment of Iran's Baha'i community. More than 100 are being held in Iranian prisons, including seven of the community's most senior leaders, some having been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

UJS launch university advice hotline

UJS has launched a "Uni hotline" service to help 18-year-old's resolve issues related to university life, from kosher food provision to insights into the Jewish community on specific campuses.
