An Orthodox synagogue has taken additional security measures to protect congregants from far-right protesters demonstrating against Jordanian terror suspect Abu Qatada.

The Islamic cleric is living around half a mile from a United Synagogue congregation in London while the government’s protracted legal case to have him deported continues.

Nothing new here

There is a surreal quality to the apparently recent discovery by some that Hizbollah is a terrorist organisation. Since the Bulgarians reported this week that last July's murders were indeed carried out by Hizbollah, there seems to have been a shocking realisation that a harmless social welfare organisation turns out instead to be a terrorist gang.

Cameron: help me kick Hizbollah out of Europe

At his meeting last month with the Jewish Leadership Council, the Prime Minister urged its members to “make a noise” and lead a grassroots campaign calling for the EU to take action against the Iranian-backed terror group.

Campus notebook: Leeds students launch video campaign

The Justice for January’s victims film features JSoc members displaying different dates from the month and stating how many people were killed in terrorist acts in Israel on that date during the past 20 years.

Bulgaria to prove Hizbollah and Iran behind Burgas attack

Bulgarian officials are expected to provide evidence today that Hizbollah and its ally Iran were behind the suicide attack in Burgas last July. The attack killed five Israeli tourists and the Bulgarian driver of an airport bus.

The Bulgarian government is set to make a public statement today after briefing Israeli officials on the investigation last month.

Suicide bomber blast at US embassy in Turkey

A suicide bomber blew himself up at the entrance of the US embassy in Ankara this afternoon.

According to various media reports, the apparent terrorist, who has not yet been identified, detonated the bomb by the security checkpoint of the embassy.

A nearby security guard and the bomber were killed.

No militant groups have yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

Amia bomb probe will be a ‘farce’
