In an unprecedented move, Israel has urged its citizens to leave Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula immediately, warning of an imminent terrorist attack.

The Prime Minister’s Office issued the urgent warning, claiming that there is “concrete evidence of an expected terrorist attempt to kidnap Israelis in Sinai".

Israeli civilians currently in Sinai may be at high risk of kidnap, although the kidnappers’ target is likely to be an Israeli soldier.

Palestinian militants have kidnapped three soldiers from Israel. One of them, Gilad Shalit, has been held hostage since 2006.

At least one Palestinian terrorist, who attempted to plant a bomb at the Gaza border fence, has been killed by the Israeli army.

The IDF and Palestinian sources have confirmed the attack happened on the Kissufim border with Gaza.

The IDF said that a group of Palestinians had attempted to breach the border and a Givati strike force fired and shelled at the group. Military helicopters were also used to target the men.

The dead man is a member of the al-Quds Brigade, the military section of Islamic Jihad, the terrorist group confirmed.

Indian security officials have confirmed that the Chabad House in Pune was the real target of a bomb attack which killed seventeen people at a nearby bakery.

Rabbi Betzalel Kupchik, of the Chabad House, said he recognised the sound of the blast as like a “Katyusha rocket sent from Hamas.”

Chief Minister of the state of Maharashtra, Ashok Chavan, said that the attack which ripped through a popular German bakery in the north west of the city was intended for the Chabad House, a few metres away.

A man has been killed by a Kassam rocket fired by Gaza terrorists. It exploded next to him when it hit a kibbutz in the northern Negev, Nativ Ha’asara.

The man is believed to be a migrant worker from Thailand who was working in the kibbutz’s greenhouse.

The rocket is the third to have hit the region in the past 24 hours, after riots in Jerusalem and protests in the Gaza Strip over Israel’s plan to build 1,600 new homes in East Jerusalem.

Two women have been treated for shock, but no-one else has been reported injured.

Security officials are not ruling out the possibility that Chabad House was the real target of the bombing in India last weekend, as it was opposite the bakery which was destroyed.

Eight people were killed and scores were injured when a bomb ripped through a popular restaurant in Pune, east of Mumbai, last Saturday evening. The German bakery was located just a few metres from the Chabad-Lubavitch centre across the street.

An Israeli soldier has been stabbed to death by a Palestinian while sitting in a military jeep in the West Bank.

Judea and Samaria District police have arrested Mohammed Hatib, believed to be a senior officer in the Palestinian security forces, in connection with the attack.

The soldier, Sergeant-Major Ihab Khatib, 28, was attacked while he sat in a traffic jam at Tapuach junction, south of Nablus in the West Bank.

He was stabbed twice in the chest through the open car window. The injured man attempted to drive away but his car overturned in a nearby ditch.
