Syrians burn pictures of Nasrallah

The members of Iran's radical axis in the Middle East are rallying around their ally, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, in support of his bloody crackdown of the pro-democracy protests that have taken place in Syria over the past two months.

Hizbollah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah called upon the Syrian people to "defend the regime" in a televised speech last Wednesday.

Bloody protests on Syria-Israel border

Binyamin Netanyahu has pledged that Israel will remain determined to defend its borders and sovereignty after clashes on its northern borders left several Arab protesters dead.

At least two Syrians were believed to have been killed and many more soldiers and protesters left injured on the Syrian border after thousands of demonstrators attempted to push across into Israel's Golan Heights.

What makes Syria different?

It is hard to imagine a more graphic demonstration of the lamentable failure to understand the Arab world by Britain and the west than its response to the "Arab Spring".
