Jamie Lester: I had no Apprentice game plan

Property developer Jamie Lester was the last Jewish candidate to be fired from The Apprentice, after a gruelling round of interviews this week.

He left in the semi-final of the BBC show, along with Stuart Baggs and Joanna Riley.

Mr Lester made it clear that the job with Lord Sugar, and its six-figure salary, had been his priority from the beginning and that he was not interested in TV stardom.

Winona Ryder reveals Mel Gibson's antisemitic Jewish joke

Jewish actress Winona Ryder has revealed that Mel Gibson once told her an antisemitic joke about the Holocaust.

However the star said no one believed her when she suggested Mr Gibson was prejudiced against Jews.

After the actor was arrested for drunk driving in 2006 Mr Gibson reportedly said: "The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world".

He was caught on tape allegedly telling the Jewish police officer who arrested him: “F***king Jews… Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.”

Bon Jovi tells Larry King, we're off to Israel

American rock band Bon Jovi is to tour Israel for the first time.

The group, famous for hits including Living on a Prayer and It’s My Life, are to play in Israel next year.

The tour is to mark the release of Bon Jovi’s 11th album, The Circle.

Frontman Jon Bon Jovi revealed the planned concert during an interview with Larry King, the Jewish American television presenter who is leaving his late night CNN chat show Larry King Live this evening, after 25 years interviewing everyone who matters in the public eye.

On this day: Gone With the Wind premieres

Jewish producer David O Selznick earned an Oscar for the film version of Margaret Mitchell’s 1936 novel Gone with the Wind. The film, first shown in a star-studded Atlanta screening on December 15, won ten Academy Awards in total and the date of its premiere was declared a state holiday by the governor of Georgia.

Golden Globes: Aaron Sorkin's The Social Network up for awards

Jewish screenwriter Aaron Sorkin has been nominated for a Golden Globe for his film about the creation of Facebook.

The Social Network, which stars Jewish actors Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield, is up for best screenplay at the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards.

It has also been placed in the category for Best Film, while its stars have been nominated for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor respectively.

To take the prize The Social Network will have to beat the forthcoming drama about rivalry in the ballet world, Black Swan.

Justin Bieber sets date for Israel concert

Teenage pop sensation Justin Bieber has announced that he will perform in Israel next year.

The 16-year-old Canadian singer will play in Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon Park in April as part of his “My World Tour.”

Marcel Avraham, the producer bringing the singer to Israel, said he expected up to 60,000 people to buy tickets.

Best known for his songs "Baby" and "One Time", Bieber has had chart success around the world and is the most Googled person on the planet.

Stacey Solomon wins I'm a Celebrity – Get Me Out Of Here!

Stacey Solomon has been crowned Queen of the jungle after winning this year's I'm a Celebrity – Get Me Out Of Here!

The former King Solomon pupil from Dagenham won the contest after audiences watched her brave tasks including eating kangaroo penis.

Ms Solomon, 21, beat former MP Lembit Opik and onetime Bond girl actress Britt Eckland to take the title on the ITV show.

After her win the star said: "Never in a million years did I think anything like this could happen. I'm a wreck."

Her win comes just a year after she gained third place on the X Factor.

Trinny and Susannah: what Britain's Israeli ambassador should wear

British fashion gurus Trinny and Susannah have shared some style tips with the British Ambassador to Israel at a party at his Ramat Gan home.

Matthew Gould and wife Celia hosted the celebrity-filled party in honour of the pair, who are filming a makeover series in Israel for Channel 10. Other guests at the party, dubbed the ambassador’s "best dressed event yet", included model Galit Guttman, designer Galit Levy and former international footballer Itzik Zohar.
