Bollywood's Gandhi to Hitler 'worst film of 2011'

A Bollywood film about Hitler which members of the Indian Jewish community dubbed as "ignorant" when it was announced has been panned by critics.

Gandhi To Hitler, a Bollywood take on the correspondence between the Indian and Nazi leaders and the end of the Third Reich was the subject of controversy when the project was announced last year.

Mel Gibson was the toast of Hollywood – had been for years – when he was stopped by a police officer in Malibu, California. He was arrested for drunk driving and launched into an attack on the officer - who was Jewish.

He allegedly shouted: "F***king Jews…the Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world".

George Clooney has teamed up with his Jewish longtime writing partner Grant Heslov on the political thriller The Ides of March.

Due for release next year, the film - about a presidential candidate and his political team - has already been tipped for next year's Academy Awards. Stars include Clooney, Ryan Gosling and Jewish actress Evan Rachel wood.

Beach drama as Spielberg sails to Sardinia

Life may be a beach for Hollywood stars Steven Spielberg and Gwyneth Paltrow, but that doesn't mean everyone in the sand is happy with them.

According to showbiz magazine Us Weekly, Mr Spielberg was fined more than £150 after he steered his speedboat too near to the Sardinia shore and interrupted a group of sunbathing visitors.

Mark Ronson has paid tribute to singer Amy Winehouse, who was found dead at her Camden flat on Saturday.

The DJ and producer, who collaborated with her on the 2007 song Valerie, was one of many celebrities to use Twitter to comment on the Jewish singer’s premature death.

He wrote: "She was my musical soulmate and like a sister to me.

Amy Winehouse found dead at age 27

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse has died at the age of 27.

The Jewish musician, whose hits included Rehab and Back to Black, was found in her Camden flat on Saturday afternoon. The Metropolitan Police said her death was unexplained.

The star, who won five Grammy awards, three Ivor Novello awards and several Brit awards, received critical praise throughout her career.
