Israel Philharmonic concerts to be streamed to the world

Audiences around the world will be able to enjoy a series of anniversary performances by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra with a few clicks of a button.

To mark conductor Zubin Mehta’s 50th year with the IPO and the orchestra’s 75th anniversary, a ten-day festival of celebration concerts has been arranged.

The performances, which begin on December 17,  will also be streamed online.

Blossom actress joins Maccabeats for charity campaign

The Maccabeats and TV star Mayim Bialik have teamed up to help raise money for a bone marrow charity.

They are hoping to raise $80,000 - $10,000 for every night of Chanucah – to support the work of the Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation, which works to find donor matches for people who need transplants.

But filming in a Reform synagogue in central London isn't the only unconventional aspect of Chelsea-based Jewish singer Stacey Jackson's bid for pop success.

Last year the 42-year-old mother-of-four swapped her life as a banker's wife in Chelsea to pursue her musical career.

Red Hot Chili Peppers to rock Tel Aviv

Veteran rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers will perform in Israel a decade after they cancelled a gig because of concerns about terrorism.

The California-based band will sing in Tel Aviv a week before Rosh Hashanah as one of the stops on their world tour.

Tickets for the concert at Yarkon Park are expected to cost nearly £70.

The reality television star, a former pupil of King Solomon High School, is to marry her boyfriend of three years, Aaron Barnham.

In October she announced that she was expecting a child with him. She already has a son, Zachary, three, from a prior relationship.

Social Network star Eisenberg sues film company

The Academy Award-nominated actor Jesse Eisenberg is suing a film company for false advertising about his involvement.

Mr Eisenberg can be seen for less than five minutes on screen in the horror film Camp Hell. He filmed his scenes in just one day and claims he was not paid well for the work.

Streisand to sing for Israeli soldiers

Barbra Streisand is to entertain Israeli soldiers for an evening next week.

The globally celebrated star will perform at a gala dinner organised by friends of the IDF in Los Angeles on December 8.

Among the more than 1,000 guests will be the former IDF chief of staff, Gabi Ashkenazi, and Seinfeld actor Jason Alexander.
