Dan Snow implied Israel started war

The BBC Trust has upheld a complaint against presenter Dan Snow that he implied that Israel started the Six-Day War. During the BBC2 documentary, A History of Syria, which aired in March, Mr Snow said that “Israel launched a series of strikes against Egypt, Jordan and Syria”.

UK Jewish Film Festival opening night gala

There was a stellar cast for the the UK Jewish Film Festival's opening gala at the end of October.

Actress Maureen Lipman, filmmaker Jes Benstock and Israeli Ambassador Daniel Taub were amoung those for the showing of The Jewish Cardinal, directed by Ilan Duran Cohen.

The event was held at the BFI on London's Southbank.

Strictly was a bruising experience but I’ll miss it, says Rachel Riley

Rachel Riley was this week trying to get over the disappointment of being voted out of Strictly Come Dancing.

The bubbly TV presenter left the BBC show after losing a dance-off against top model Abbey Clancy at the weekend.

“I wish I didn’t have to leave, but it’s out of my control,” she said. “I absolutely loved it and wish I could have stayed longer.”

Rachel Riley voted off Strictly Come Dancing

Rachel Riley was the fifth celebrity to be eliminated from BBC's Strictly Come Dancing.

The Countdown co-presenter performed the American Smooth to "Put A Spell On You" by Screamin' Jay Hawkinswith on the Halloween themed show this weekend.

But the 27-year-old found herself in the bottom two against model Abbey Clancy, a favourite to win the show's eleventh series.

Israel has the X Factor for Paula and Simon

Former US X Factor judge and 1980s pop star Paula Abdul arrived in Tel Aviv yesterday ahead of a 10-day trip that will see her tour Israel, meet the president, and even have a batmitzvah ceremony at the Western Wall.

Ms Abdul will be travelling to major sites in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and the Galilee as a guest of the Ministry of Tourism.
