Jury considering verdict in Grynhaus sex abuse case

The jury in the trial of a Jewish teacher accused of sexual assaults on two schoolgirls have retired to consider their verdict.

Father-of-10 Todros Grynhaus, 50, is alleged to have molested the girls when they were between the ages of 13 and 15 then relied on the Orthodox Jewish community’s "resentment" of reporting matters to the police to keep the allegations secret.


Woman has baby in her local community centre

A pregnant woman went to her local community centre – and gave birth.

The woman, a member of Broughton’s Charedi community in Salford, had visited the centre, which shares premises with a local library yesterday lunchtime when the contractions began, it is understood.

Salford Charedim will have their first multi-use community centre after being handed the keys to a disused library by Salford Council.

The vacant two-storey Broughton Library building was closed last year after library facilities were moved to the adjacent £9 million Broughton Hub development.
