Anger over Knesset attack on Reform movement

Britain’s Reform movement has urged members to protest to Israel Ambassador Daniel Taub after attacks on Reform within the Knesset.

Likud-Beiteinu’s David Rotem, who chairs the Knesset’s Constitution, Law and Justice Committee, apologised on Sunday after referring to Reform as “another religion” last week.

Senior Reform rabbi attacks community over ‘elitist’ attitude

A leading rabbi has criticised the Jewish community for being elitist and “experts in exclusion”.

Laura Janner-Klausner, Reform Judaism’s senior rabbi, said that Anglo-Jewry seemed to “specialise in raising and maintaining barriers, obstacles.”

She added: “We need to recognise that the fortress around Judaism is counterproductive to a Judaism that we want.”

Arizona acquisition for Bromley Reform

Rabbi Jason Holtz has swapped the deserts of Arizona for Kent suburbia as Bromley Reform’s new minister.

In Tuscon, Rabbi Holtz was assistant minister at Temple Emanu-El, directing its religion school. In Bromley, he replaces Rabbi Tony Hammond who retired in August after 10 years with the congregation.
