Ehud Barak: We must pull out of West Bank

‘Investigate UK funding of Palestinian NGOs’

The head of the Jerusalem-based research institute, NGO Monitor, has called for an inquiry into British government funding of Palestinian organisations which he says promote political attacks on Israel.

More than £500,000 was provided by the Foreign Office and the Department for International Development to Palestinian NGOs last year, according to the organisation’s figures.


Romney says Palestinians 'committed to destruction of Israel'

Secret footage of Mitt Romney was released on Tuesday in which he describes the Palestinians as “committed to the destruction and elimination of Israel”.

The film, posted on the website of the left-leaning US magazine Mother Jones, showed Mr Romney speaking at a $50,000-a-plate private fundraiser in Florida in May.

'Palestinian Embassy' balloon flying over Liverpool is a load of hot air

A hot-air balloon labelled “Palestinian Embassy”, and carrying political commentators, will fly over Liverpool next month as part of a prestigious art festival.

The exhibit is part of the Liverpool Biennal 2012, an event that receives funding from the Arts Council England and Liverpool City Council.


Anti-Israel Al-Quds demonstrations in Iran

Iran’s national anti-Israel day led to a fresh wave of flag burning demonstrations in Tehran today to support of the "Palestinian resistance to the Israeli regime".

International Al-Quds Day, which has been annually staged since the 1979 Islamic revolution, encouraged citizens to stage mass demonstrations in support of the destruction of Israel.


France backs Palestinian UNESCO bid for Church of Nativity

A Palestinian delegation to a Unesco meeting tomorrow in St Petersburg is seeking to gain recognition for the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem as a world heritage site.

The bid comes following the Palestinians’ admission to Unesco last year and is widely viewed as part of their campaign to achieve international recognition of an independent state.
