Mossad director meets Turkish intelligence chief

The head of Israel’s secret service met Turkish officials in Ankara on Monday.

Mossad director Tamir Pardo had a meeting with Hakan Fidan of the Turkish intelligence agency.

According to sources, the two discussed the Iranian nuclear programme, threats from Syria and greater intelligence co-operation between Israel and Turkey, as well as the current protests in Turkey.

Prisoner X ‘scuppered Mossad plan’

Those interested in applying to be a spy can now fill out an online form. In the past, Mossad would find agents through word-of-mouth and recommendations from elite military units.

According to the application form, required qualities include fluency in Arabic and Farsi and experience in Israeli military intelligence units.

Prisoner X jail staff face criminal charges

Prison staff who were allegedly responsible for “Prisoner X” may face criminal charges for negligence following the revelation that the alleged Australian Mossad agent committed suicide in an Israeli jail in 2010.

Four employees of Ayalon prison, two officers and two guards, may be charged following the release of a government report on Tuesday into 34-year-old Ben Zygier’s death.
