It was, of course, important and right that Gerry Downing should have been expelled from the Labour Party. But it is simply bizarre that he should ever have been readmitted in the first place — and that says much about the party under Jeremy Corbyn.

Gerry Downing runs the Socialist Fight group, which has defended Daesh and posted an article which stated: "Why Marxists must address the Jewish Question".

Labour’s London mayor candidate Sadiq Khan has explained why he switched from lobbying for sanctions against Israel to opposing boycotts of the country.

The JC revealed yesterday that Mr Khan had repeatedly called on ministers to impose sanctions in 2009, despite using his campaign for City Hall to claim he had consistently opposed such moves.

Sadiq Khan regularly lobbied for sanctions against Israel when his party was in government, despite using his London mayoral campaign to claim he had consistently opposed such moves.

The Labour candidate had contacted leading politicians including David Miliband, who was then Foreign Secretary, in an effort to have measures imposed against Israel.

Labour activists reportedly compared Britain’s missile defence system to “gas chambers” ahead of a peace protest attended by Jeremy Corbyn on Saturday.

According to The Sun, anti-war members of Labour’s CND distributed a memo that compared Trident to the gas chambers used by the Nazis during the Second World War.
