Brighton rocked by hate slogans

Brighton city centre is a hub of anti-something protesters. At the city’s central clock tower, one group shouts slogans about NHS while another campaigns to have a prisoner of war released.

Walk on 50 metres and you are faced with protests outside the Israeli retailer EcoStream, on Western Road.

Student teacher speaks out for Israel at ‘extreme’ debate

Protests turn nasty outside Israeli EcoStream

A woman was arrested last Saturday amid escalating protests outside an Israeli store in Brighton.

Julie Warman, 44, was charged with racially or religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress following an incident during a protest outside EcoStream, a Sussex police spokesperson confirmed.

Yet again, an Israeli-owned company is being prevented from carrying out its lawful business by a racist mob. Previously, such outbreaks of antisemitism masking as anti-Israel protests have galvanized the community into a response. But because the latest victim, EcoStream, is in Brighton, the issue seems to have fallen off Anglo-Jewry's radar.

The political science department of Brooklyn College, a publicly-funded institution, has provoked outrage over its plans to sponsor a discussion about supporting the campaign to boycott Israel.
