Jewish groups urge release of Baha'i academics in Iran

Iran's detention of 11 Baha'i academics has been condemned by the Board of Deputies and Union of Jewish Students.

British Jews have repeatedly raised concerns about the treatment of Iran's Baha'i community. More than 100 are being held in Iranian prisons, including seven of the community's most senior leaders, some having been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Uruguay responds to Iranian ambassador's Holocaust claims

Uruguay's government has condemned Iran's ambassador to the South American country following statements in which he denied the facts of the Holocaust.

Hojatollah Soltani said last week that "it is said that during that war the Nazis killed two million, four million, six million...there are different figures on the Jews' news."

Olympic organisers urged to block Iran over Israel boycott

Iran 'will help' bomb probe

Iran has offered to aid the investigation into the deadly bombing of a Buenos Aires Jewish centre, 17 years after the attack.

Argentinian prosecutors have long implicated Iran in the blast at the Jewish-Argentine Mutual Association (AMIA) centre, which destroyed the seven-floor building, leaving 85 dead and 300 injured.

Iran has offered to aid the investigation into the deadly bombing of a Buenos Aires Jewish centre, 17 years after the attack.

Argentinian prosecutors have long implicated Iran in the AMIA blast, which left 85 people dead and 300 people with injuries. But although six Iranians are on Interpol's most wanted list for suspected involvement, no arrests have been made.

Major General Aviv Kochavi, speaking during a knesset hearing, also said the Iranians were exploiting the Arab Spring in order to consolidate power in the Middle East.
