Palestinians shot dead in Nakba Day protests

Two Palestinians have been killed by Israeli soldiers in the West Bank after participating in Nakba Day riots.

Soldiers reportedly shot the men in the heart with rubber bullets during a riot outside the Ofer Military Prison near Ramallah today.

Britain has "serious concerns" about Israeli activity in the Palestinian territories, Baroness Warsi has told the House of Lords.

The Foreign Office minister said on Monday that Britain had "raised cases with the Israeli authorities" relating to the killing and injuring of civilians, policing of non-violent demonstrations, and treatment of child detainees.

Gaza terror group declares ceasefire

Islamic Jihad has announced a ceasefire after launching a massive rocket barrage at southern Israel over the past 24 hours.

The Gaza terror group said that the truce had been brokered by Egypt – but Israel has not yet confirmed it.

Knesset passes Charedi draft law

A contentious new law that will criminalise strictly Orthodox yeshivah students who evade Israeli army service was passed by Knesset this morning.

The so-called "Draft Law" was approved by 65 to 1, with a Jewish Home MK casting the only "no" vote. Most of those who opposed the law simply boycotted the vote.

Israeli jets kill Islamic Jihad members in response to mortar fire

The Israeli Air Force has hit targets in the Gaza Strip after mortar rounds were fired at IDF units near the border by terrorists reported to be members of Islamic Jihad.

IDF spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner, originally from the UK, said: "Terrorists must know that there is a price to pay when participating in aggression.

Israeli teenagers refuse to join IDF over "war crimes"

Almost 50 Israeli teenagers are refusing to be drafted into the Israel Defence Forces in protest over "war crimes" committed in the occupied territories.

In a joint letter to Prime Minister Netanyahu, they criticise what they say are human rights abuses taking place on a “daily basis”.

British mothers battle stress of having children in IDF

Camille Compton, former Emunah charity chair, co-founded Mahal Mums after her 19-year-old son, Max, volunteered for the IDF after leaving Immanuel College last summer.

Israeli airlines get laser defence shields
