Israeli embassy criticises British MPs over Gaza letter

The Israeli embassy in London has hit back at a group of parliamentarians who blamed Israel for the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

In a letter published in the Guardian on December 27 - marking the fifth anniversary of Operation Cast Lead - more than two dozen MPs and peers called for the British government to "to take immediate action to bring an end to the blockade on Gaza".


IDF soldier stabbed to death on bus

An IDF soldier has died in hospital after he was stabbed in a suspected terror attack on a bus in Afula this morning.

The attacker was a Palestinian 16-year-old from the West Bank city of Jenin who had been living in Israel illegally.


IDF heads to Philippines to help storm survivors

Israeli rescue forces and Jewish aid groups have been dispatched to the Philippines to help those affected by Typhoon Haiyan.

The storm swept through the eastern seaboard of the Philippines, before heading west and hitting six central Philippine islands. At least 10,000 people are believed to have been killed.


Israeli jets in fresh strikes on Syrian missile base

Israeli Air Force planes attacked a Syrian base in the early hours of Thursday last week, destroying the advanced missiles that were stored there.

American officials confirmed that the explosions heard in the area were the result of an Israeli strike.

But it was not a rifle the 19-year-old north-west Londoner was holding as he gazed out over the troops and tanks crossing the landscape, but a camera.


IDF has the X Factor for Simon Cowell

Music mogul Simon Cowell has boosted the Israeli Army with a sizeable donation at a gala dinner in Los Angeles.

The X Factor chief gave a sum thought to be in the region of £150,000 at the annual fundraising event hosted by the American Friends of the IDF.


Palestinian killed after ramming tractor into IDF base

A Palestinian man was shot and killed last night after ramming a tractor into an IDF base, in what the army is describing as a suspected terror attack.

The incident happened at the IDF’s Rama Base, which is just just north of Jerusalem, next to the Palestinian neighbourhood of Al-Ram.


Hamas tunnel: a key element in its new strategy

A 1,800m tunnel leading from under the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory, discovered by the IDF last week, was to be used at a future date by Hamas to carry out a terror attack or kidnapping.

The last 300m of the tunnel end near Kibbutz Ein Hashlosha. According to Israeli intelligence, it was almost certainly excavated by Hamas and took over 18 months, ending this June, to build.
