Young gays supported

A culturally sensitive and confidential support service for Jewish 16-21-year-olds who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender - or think that they might be - will be launched in spring.

It follows an in-depth survey conducted by the Jewish Gay and Lesbian Group (JGLG) to ascertain the wishes and concerns of young LGBTQs.

Community leads the way in gay rights, says rabbi

Rainbow Jews, organised by Liberal Judaism, explores the relationship between the Jewish community and its gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender members, showcasing video footage, banners, books and artefacts from the past 50 years.

Parliament hosts Chanucah celebration for gay group

Parliament has hosted its first Chanucah reception for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Jews.

Keshet UK, which promotes the inclusion of LGBT Jews in all aspects of communal life, welcomed around 100 people to the Commons’ Jubilee Room on Monday evening.

Gay Men's Chorus gives us something to sing about

Stephen Fry is 'evil', says anti-gay Russian politician

Stephen Fry has been labelled "evil" by Russian politician Vitaly Milonov over his views on gay rights in Russia.

Mr Fry criticised Russia’s anti-gay laws in March and called on David Cameron, Sebastian Coe and the International Olympic Committee to boycott the 2014 Russian Winter Olympics.

Stephen Fry compares Russian gay discrimination to Nazi Germany

Broadcaster and actor Stephen Fry has compared Russia's treatment of gay people to Hitler's persecution of Jews in Nazi Germany.

Mr Fry made the claim in a letter calling on the International Olympic Committee to strip the Russian city of Sochi of next year's Winter Olympics.

Members of Mr Fry's family were killed in Hungary during the Holocaust.

Spanish chief rabbi denies calling gays "deviants"

A spokeswoman for the Jewish community in Madrid has denied the authenticity of quotes attributed to its chief rabbi in which he reportedly called gays “deviants” who need “re-educating”.

Rabbi Moshe Bendahan was alleged to have made the comments last week during an interview for Religion Digital, a news website.
