Jeff Goldblum joins Glee cast as Rachel's dad

Jewish actor Jeff Goldblum has joined the cast of Glee.

The actor, whose hits include Jurassic Park and Independence Day, will play one of the fathers of actress Lea Michele.

Ms Michele's character Rachel Berry has been described as Jewish on a number of occasions on the show, including in an episode where she dated her fellow Jewish Glee club member, Noah "Puck" Puckerman.

The Jewish actress, who plays Rachel Berry in the hit television show, has been informed by Glee creator Ryan Murphy that she and her co-stars Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer will not appear on a fourth season.

The composers of the Glee hit Don't Stop Believin', have taken legal action against an anti-Israel group for reworking the song into a pro-Palestinian tune without permission.

According to the New York Post, members of the band Journey are seeking a permanent injunction to prevent Adalah from using the song again.
