Israel and Hamas agree on ceasefire

Israel has agreed on an open-ended ceasefire with Hamas.

A massive rocket barrage from Gaza conicided with the deadline for the end of hostilities, however.

The deal includes an initial period in which all firing will stop and restrictions on crossings will be eased for humanitarian aid, with long-term issues to be addressed after one month.

Huge rocket attack from Hamas as truce talks continue

Israelis rushed into bomb shelters this morning as dozens of rockets were fired into Tel Aviv, Ashdod and Ashkelon.

More than 25 rockets were fired into Moatza Ezorit Eshkol, in the south.

The wave of attacks came as Israeli forces bombed two evacuated building in Gaza City today.

Police to move protesters away from Kedem store

Police have put a stop to a five-week protest outside a Jewish-owned shop which sells Israeli products.

Pro-Palestinian activists and Israel-supporting counter-protesters will be moved away from the Kedem store, in a central Manchester, to a nearby "designated protest area”.

Hamas commander Mohammed Deif ‘may be dead’

Israeli intelligence officials have told Fox News that Hamas’s chief military commander, Mohammed Deif, may have been killed in Wednesday’s airstrikes across Gaza.

The report is the first public statement by Israeli sources that Deif could be dead.

Israel exits truce talks as Hamas breaks ceasefire

Israel has recalled its negotiating team from Cairo after three rockets fired from the Gaza Strip struck open areas near Beersheva and Netivot.

The attack came hours before a full ceasefire agreement was due to be signed between Israel and Hamas.

The temporary five-day truce between the two sides was extended by another 24 hours last night at the request of the Egyptian mediators.
