US Federal Aviation Authority lifts Israel flight ban

The US Federal Aviation Authority has lifted its ban on all American flights to Israel.

The aviation body reversed its earlier decision to extend the ban for another 24 hours after intensive consultations with Israeli security officials.

Lib Dems will discipline David Ward over Gaza tweet

The Liberal Democrats have condemned an MP who backed Hamas rockets being fired into Israel.

David Ward, the MP for Bradford East, tweeted on Tuesday evening: “The big question is - if I lived in #Gaza would I fire a rocket? - probably yes”

The statement was condemned by the party.

Delta Airlines cancels flights to Israel after rocket attack near Ben Gurion airport

Delta Airlines has decided to cancel all flights to Israel after a rocket landed in the greater Tel Aviv area near Ben Gurion International airport.

On Twitter the American carrier said: “Delta suspends TLV operations until further notice.”

The policy follows a decision by Delta to divert a flight bound for Israel from New York which instead landed in Paris.

Israeli army confirms one of its soldiers is missing

The Israeli army has confirmed that one of its soldiers - thought to have been killed two days ago in Gaza - has still not been found or identified.

In a statement, the military said: “The identification process of six of the soldiers killed has been completed and confirmed. The efforts to identify the seventh soldier are ongoing and have yet to be determined.”

Labour opposed to Israel’s Gaza invasion, says Ed Miliband

Labour Party leader Ed Miliband has said he is firmly opposed to Israel’s ground invasion of Gaza.

In an interview with the Huffington Post, Mr Miliband said: “We oppose the Israeli incursion into Gaza. I don't think it will help win Israel friends. I don't think this will make the situation better. I fear it will make it worse.”

Thousands turn out to support Israel in London rally

Kensington High Street was awash with Israeli flags as British Jews flocked to south-west London to show their support at the Zionist Federation (ZF) rally this afternoon.

An estimated 5,000 Israel supporters – many wearing blue and white outfits for the event – held up placards that called for an end to Hamas terrorism.

Thousands expected at London pro-Israel rally

Thousands of Israel supporters are expected to attend a rally outside the country’s embassy in central London on Sunday.

The two-hour event, led by the Zionist Federation (ZF) and backed by 60 organisations, will recreate the sirens heard by Israeli citizens since Operation Protective Edge began last week. Deactivated missiles will also be on display.
