More Golden Globe success for Homeland

Television series Homeland, based on the Israeli television show Hatufim, has had another successful year at the Golden Globes, winning Best Television Drama.

At the awards on Sunday night, Homeland’s Damian Lewis and Claire Danes were honoured with the Best Actor and Best Actress awards for their roles in the series.

Awards recognition for Spielberg’s Lincoln bodes well for Oscars

The Gatekeepers, directed by Israeli Dror Moreh tells the history of Israel through the stories of six former directors of Shin Bet, Israel’s security service.

Polish film tells truth on home made massacre

A Polish film documenting crimes committed by Poles against their Jewish neighbours has provoked strong reactions in the country.

The movie, Aftermath, written and directed by Polish director Wladyslaw Pasikowski, is based on the events surrounding the Jedwabne massacre in July 1941 in Nazi-occupied Poland.

Maureen Lipman blasts Jewish Mum TV series

Actress Maureen Lipman has attacked the “culture of humiliation on television” in reference to the Jewish Mum of the Year series currently being aired on Channel 4.

The Pianist star told the Telegraph: “It is very damaging, with antisemitism being what it is. Not to mention that being a Jewish mother is nothing like the way they portray it.”
