A Jerusalem court convicted Olmert in July of being improperly involved in directing contracts to friends of a business associate.

A Golders Green woman has been convicted of harassment and assault on a police officer, after a sequence of events during which she sent dog excrement to a former lodger by post.

Yanina Heuberger, 53, was convicted of sending both an abusive email and a further offending letter to lawyer Lisa Hirsowitz following a small claims settlement over the lodger’s rental deposit.


Teen trio broke into synagogue and stole car

Three Jewish teenagers burgled a synagogue on a Shabbat and stole a congregant’s car.

They entered the Beth Shmuel Synagogue in Golders Green, north-west London, and took the keys for the vehicle, which was parked outside.


Chabad rabbi punched

A rabbi has described how he was punched during a scuffle with men who shouted antisemitic abuse.

Rabbi Yisroel Lew was struck in the ear after the men launched an unprovoked attack in the early hours of the morning in Baker Street, central London.

The Bloomsbury Chabad director and a friend had been moving items from his office when the incident happened.

Gerald Ingram used the internet to make contact with a woman and arrange to have sex with her two daughters aged three and five, and a 10-year-old boy.

Charity theft trial postponed

A Merseyside couple accused of involvement with fraudulently obtained charity cash appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday.

Harris Polak faces two fraud charges involving cash donated to Cancer Relief UK and Clatterbridge Cancer Research.

He is also charged with two charges of money-laundering involving the donated money, as is his wife, Reva Polak.


Anti-Israel protesters guilty of trespassing

Two anti-Israel activists have been found guilty of trespassing at a Brighton arms factory.

In April 2011 Jessica Nero and Gavin Pidwell blocked the gates at the EDO MBM plant, claiming they were protesting against the firm’s production of weapons systems supplied to Israel.

The pair are members of the Smash EDO group, whose activists have repeatedly caused disruption at the factory.
