But whether it's a tent in a muddy field, a room at a disused boarding school or a hostel somewhere far flung and exotic, it's probably made it into a Hollywood version already.

Bnei Akiva recalls inspiring Handler

The Chief Rabbi led the tributes to veteran Zionist Arieh Handler, who died in Israel last month, aged 95, at a memorial evening at St John's Wood Synagogue on Sunday.

BA brings Israel home

Bnei Akiva ran a well supported Israel Week, promoting Israel's achievements to the wider community.

More than 200 people celebrated Yom Yerushalayim in London and Manchester with services and guest speakers Rav Ilan Goldman (London) and Rabbi Chaim Kanterovitz (Manchester).

Arieh Handler, the last survivor of those present at the declaration of the state of Israel, has died at the age of 95.

His funeral will be held today in Tel Aviv. There will be shivas in Jerusalem and London.

'It's worth it for the experience'

Mitchell Cohen, a 17-year-old Hasomean pupil from Bushey, is taking Bnei Akiva's Torani scheme and will study at Yeshivat Hakotel for the year.

"I have had a Jewish education my whole life and wanted to take it further," he says. "It's so important before you socialise with the wider world to learn more about Judaism and Israel advocacy. The experience is something I will never get again.
