Netanyahu sues over freebie claims

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has filed libel suits against Channel 10 and Ma'ariv newspaper over allegations that he accepted a series of expensive freebies from wealthy associates.

Last week, a Channel 10 report alleged that, in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Mr Netanyahu took lavish foreign trips at the expense of Jewish organisations and private philanthropists.


Speculation as Sarah Palin plans meeting with Netanyahu

The American politician and Tea Party leader, Sarah Palin, is expected to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem today.

Mrs Palin, who arrived in Israel on Sunday after a trip to India, is on a private visit, but her trip has fuelled speculation that she is planning her own White House bid.


Netanyahu to unveil new diplomatic plan

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is planning a major policy speech next month in which he is expected to unveil his new diplomatic plan.

The venue and the timing of the speech has yet to be determined but it is already being dubbed "Bar-Ilan Speech Two," after the speech in June 2009 in which Mr Netanyahu accepted the principle of a two-state solution.


Palin to meet Netanyahu in Israel

Sarah Palin will meet Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in Israel this weekend for a "private visit", Israel media has reported.

The former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate is due to arrive on Sunday with her husband Todd for a two-day visit, according to Yediot Aharonot. She is also expected to meet with other right-wing Knesset members.

Mr Netanyahu will be only the third world leader after Barack Obama and David Cameron to answer questions put to him on the YouTube programme.

The Israeli Prime Minister also invited the South Americans back in 13 years' time to mark the “barmitzvah” of one of the miners’ sons, who earlier this week was baptised in the Jordan River.
