'Kill Obama to save Israel'

The owner of a Jewish newspaper in Georgia, USA, has stepped down after public condemnation of a recent column.

Andrew Adler announced his departure as editor of the Atlanta Jewish Times, a paper dating back to the 1920s, after apologising for writing that, to secure itself against Iran, Israel should consider assassinating President Obama.


Obama: 'No options off the table' on Iran

President Obama has reaffirmed his commitment to Israel and sent a warning signal to Iran in the final State of the Union address of his first term in office.

The president told America that the country's "ironclad commitment to Israel's security has meant the closest military co-operation" in history and vowed that he would consider every option to reign in Iran.

It emerged yesterday that the President and France's Nicolas Sarkozy had expressed their dislike of Mr Netanyahu during what they believed to be a private conversation.
