Spate of antisemitic incidents reported

Shomrim, the volunteer community security group, reported four antisemitic incidents in London on Tuesday, including one verbal attack on a man leaving a synagogue on Clapton Common.

The suspect, a black male, is said to have shouted “we need to kill all the Jews” at the victim before kicking and smashing his car window.

David Cameron pledges more protection for places of worship after surge in hate crime

A significant rise in religious hate crime has led Prime Minister David Cameron to pledge more protection for synagogues, mosques and churches.

Religious hate crime has risen by 43 per cent over the last year, according to Home Office statistics.

Speaking on Tuesday, Mr Cameron said: “Rising hate crime is unacceptable – we must do more to fight it”.

Images released of football fans accused of antisemitic chanting

Police want to question a group of West Ham football supporters over antisemitic chanting on a train.

The British Transport Police has released images of the five men who several witnesses have accused of singing antisemitic song after a match with Leicester City on August 15.

Antisemitic minister fired from Greek cabinet

The new Greek deputy transport minister, Dimitris Kammenos, was sacked 12 hours into his job for comparing the European Union to a concentration camp and calling homosexuals "pathetic".

The announcement that Mr Kammenos, an MP from the nationalist Independent Greeks party, would take a cabinet position in Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras's new coalition government triggered a public uproar.

Police drop probe into alleged hate remarks at anti-Netanyahu protest

Police have dropped an investigation into a complaint made against a pro-Palestinian activist.

Last week, Jewish Human Rights Watch reported a video which appeared to show a woman supporting the killing of Jews at an anti-Israel protest outside Downing Street on September 9.

BBC apologises over 'antisemitic' illustration in Proms programme

The BBC has apologised for causing offence after an "antisemitic" illustration was included in a BBC Proms programme.

Gillian Stern, from Finchley, said she was shocked that a "hideously and very obviously antisemitic cartoon" of the violinist Leopold Auer appeared in the programme for a Proms performance of Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto.

Police investigate pro-Palestinian protester over 'killing Jews' remark

Police are investigating a complaint made against a pro-Palestinian activist over comments in which she appeared to support the killing of Jews.

The woman was filmed making the remarks outside Downing Street, during an anti-Israel demonstration against a visit to London by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

British Jewish artist Anish Kapoor announced last week that a Versailles politician was taking him to court for choosing to display antisemitic information on his sculpture, Dirty Corner.

The sculpture on display at the Château de Versailles - a large steel structure surrounded by large rocks, dubbed by French reporters "the queen's vagina" - was vandalised two weeks ago with antisemitic graff
