Amy, your drug drama is boring us

And so we didn’t even manage to get to the end of January without breaking our resolutions. More pointedly, Amy Winehouse didn’t. Just 20 days into the year, the singer turned up at court in Milton Keynes charged with drunkenly assaulting a theatre manager during a pantomime performance (my first thought was: “what on earth was Amy Winehouse doing at a panto starring Mickey Rooney?”).

Amy Winehouse guilty of pantomime assault

Amy Winehouse has been spared jail after pleading guilty to assaulting a theatre manager during a pantomime.

The singer pulled the hair of Richard Pound, manager of Milton Keynes Theatre after he suggested she had too much to drink during a performance of Cinderella.

Ms Winehouse, 26, admitted she had been drunk when she called Mr Pound, 27, a “f****** c***” and pulled his hair.

At Milton Keynes magistrates court, Ms Winehouse pleaded guilty to one charge of common assault and one of disorderly behaviour.

Amy Winehouse slams dad's documentary

Amy Winehouse is furious with her father Mitch Winehouse after he took part in a TV documentary about her drug abuse.

Mr Winehouse, 58, a former cab driver, appeared on documentary My Daughter Amy on Channel 4.

After watching the programme on Friday night, Ms Winehouse wrote on Twitter: “Why don't my Dad write a song when something bothers him instead of going on national TV? And you thought your parents were embarrassing."

Amy Winehouse held after panto incident

Amy Winehouse has been arrested in connection with an assault following an incident at a pantomime at Milton Keynes Theatre on Saturday.

The 26-year-old Rehab singer was charged today under the name Amy Civil – her ex-husband’s name – with a Section 5 public order offence and common assault.

She attended Milton Keynes police station voluntarily with her legal advisor at 1.15pm this afternoon.

She was formally arrested by officers from Thames Valley Police on suspicion of assault and public order.

Winehouse wows Strictly

A pop star battling addiction issues made a comeback on a prime-time family entertainment show last weekend and immediately sparked concern that the rehab had not gone so well.

The shock was that the pop star in question was not Amy Winehouse. For while a sweating, bug-eyed Robbie Williams was scaring viewers of X-Factor, Winehouse looked comfortable and composed on Strictly Come Dancing.

Winehouse to perform on Strictly Come Dancing

Amy Winehouse is set to perform live on Strictly Come Dancing, as a backing singer for her 13-year-old goddaughter Dionne Bromfield.

The singer, 26, has signed Dionne up to her own record label, Lioness Records, and the BBC show will see her debut her new single Mama Said.

Winehouse said: “Dionne is so much better than I was at her age. I’m so proud. She’s my number one.”
Bromfield spoke of her excitement at singing with her godmother.

She said: "Amy and I both love Strictly Come Dancing.

Amy Winehouse not guilty of assault

Amy Winehouse has been found not guilty of punching a dancer at a charity ball in Berkeley Square last September.

The Jewish singer denied assaulting burlesque dancer Sherene Flash by punching her in the eye after a friend tried to jump in the photograph that Miss Flash was taking of Ms Winehouse.

She was been found not guilty at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court.

Ms Winehouse could not attend her grandmother Esther's funeral because of her trial, but mother Janis has told the Evening Standard that Ms Winehouse will attend the shiva this week after her acquittal.

Amy Winehouse divorces Blake

Amy Winehouse and her estranged husband Blake Fielder-Civil have called time on their turbulent marriage.

The Rehab singer and her husband were granted a “quickie” divorce on grounds of adultery, which Ms Winehouse admitted.

Mr Fielder-Civil’s divorce papers declared that he found it “intolerable” to live with Winehouse.

The couple have been married since May 2007, but having been living separate lives since Mr Fielder-Civil was imprisoned in June 2008 for perverting the course of justice and GBH with intent.

Rabbis fight cremations in US

As increasing numbers of Americans choose cremation, a national organisation of liberal burial societies is trying to promote burial among the non-Orthodox.

“We’re going on the positive offensive rather than the negative ‘don’t get cremated’ route,” said Rabbi Stuart Kelman, president of Kavod v’Nichum, a North American consortium of burial societies.
