Dutch Jewish groups angry over Geert Wilders' Morocco comments

Dutch Jewish groups have spoken out against Geert Wilders, leader of the anti-immigration Party for Freedom, after he told supporters that he would reduce the number of Moroccans in the country, the JTA has reported.

Mr Wilders asked his supporters at a post-election celebration in March whether they wanted “fewer or more Moroccans”.

Netanyahu attempts to bury report on migrants

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office has attempted to block an official report on the country’s treatment of African asylum seekers.

Harel Locker, Mr Netanyahu’s Chief of Staff, urged the State Comptroller Joseph Shapira to restrict access to the document out of security concerns, as well as a fear that it could harm the country’s foreign relations.

Maureen Lipman hits out at Oldie magazine

Maureen Lipman has reiterated her anger at The Oldie magazine and its editor Richard Ingrams, after discovering its April issue featured a news story criticising Israel’s treatment of Eritrean and Sudanese immigrants.

Ms Lipman cut her ties with the magazine last week, saying she could no longer tolerate its “antisemitic, anti-Jewish, anti-Israel material”.
