Council backs down over Hitlers Walk sign

A proposed boycott by Cornish Jews has led a village to defer indefinitely its plan to erect a sign naming a local park “Hitlers Walk”.

The title was originally created by Mevagissey residents in the 1930s in reference to despotic local councillor Wright Harris, but the park sign was removed in 2005 following objections.

Jews in Cornwall are calling for a boycott of a fishing village over the erection of a sign naming a local park “Hitlers Walk”.

Harvey Kurzfield, chairperson of the Cornish Jewish community, was reported as calling the decision “outrageous and completely unfeeling”.

Backing for debate over Hitler book sale

An MP's call for a national debate on the sale of offensive literature such as Mein Kampf has been welcomed by the Board of Deputies.

Labour's Thomas Docherty said he wanted to spark discussion about the book's availability after he noticed its commercial success while searching the history section of Amazon's website before his 40th birthday on Wednesday.

A Romanian mayor has sparked an outcry after he appeared in public apparently sporting an Adolf Hitler-style haircut and moustache.

The Romanian Centre for Monitoring and Combating Antisemitism filed a complaint at the public prosecutor's office against Radu Mazare, who appears to have a penchant for the Nazi look.

DNA test reveals Jewish ancestry of Hitler's wife, Eva Braun

DNA tests have revealed that Adolf Hitler’s wife Eva Braun had Jewish ancestry.

The scientific examination, carried out by analysing a strand of Braun’s hair from her hairbrush, show that she had a genetic sequence strongly associated with Ashkenazi Jews.

The revelation comes as part of the Channel 4 documentary Dead Famous DNA, which will be aired on Wednesday evening.

The Channel bought the sample for its documentary series Dead Famous DNA, but said tests had shown it was not authentic.
