Anti-abuse training stepped up for youth workers

Australian abuse report

An Australian government report has found members of the Jewish community were "discouraged from reporting" allegations of abuse against employees of two yeshivahs.

Court won't cut Carmel College abuser's jail time

A pensioner jailed for repeated sex attacks at a Jewish boarding school over 25 years ago deserved his 19-year sentence, senior judges have ruled.

Retired teacher Trevor Bolton, 78, was locked up for a string of sex crimes committed against boys he taught at Carmel College, in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, between the 1960s and the late 1980s.

Van driver ‘shouted antisemitic abuse at shul-goers’

Synagogue-goers were antisemitically abused by a man in a white van as they made their way home.

Police have said a person driving a white Ford Transit van last Saturday in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, shouted offensive language at a group walking along Deacons Hill Road at around 1pm.

It is understood that the driver made reference to Hitler and the “gas chambers”.
