Lee Bibring wheels out a new business - luxury cycling trips
Avid cyclist Lee Bibring has turned his passion into a profession with a unique new cycling venture.
Launched this month, Love Velo offers luxury cycling holidays throughout Mediterranean Europe. The debut five-day trip takes place in Majorca in March 2010 and will be led by Tour de France stage winner Marcel Wüst.
A lawyer, Mr Bibring, 28, spent four years at a top City firm before deciding that he “didn’t want to sit behind a desk any more”.
He tells People: “The inspiration behind the Love Velo brand came from wanting to add a luxurious element to cycling. I wanted more than a holiday. I wanted to combine a 5-star luxury experience with great riding.
“I love cycling and enjoy all aspects of being in the great outdoors,” adds Mr Bibring, who has been riding for many years, completing everything from charity bike rides to an ironman triathlon.
“I have a real passion for quality brands and I think there is a great opportunity for Love Velo to be successful.”
He points out that he wants the “après-cycle to be as important as being on the bike”.
Riders are treated to stunning villa accommodation, an on-site masseuse, a chef and fine wine.
The Majorca trip costs from £1,180 excluding flights and there is the option for people to earn ‘Velo Miles’, in turn receiving discounts on trips and exclusive company merchandise.
Love Velo also offers luxury rides in Provence, Tuscany and around the Scottish lochs, as well as professional-led training for people who have entered a “stage” in the Tour de France or alternatively fancy a few days of tough cycling on the Pyrenees.
Mr Bibring, who lives in West Hampstead, north London, is a busy man at the moment, spending much of his time seeking out exclusive new routes — in addition to planning his wedding next year.
