A woman was killed and up to 30 civilians were injured, including at least four severely, when a bomb exploded near the Jerusalem bus station at lunchtime today.

Bob Dylan set for Israel concert

Bob Dylan is to perform in Israel for the third time this June, according to tour news on a fan website.

The American singer-songwriter, born Robert Allen Zimmerman to Jewish parents in Minnesota, is expected to perform at the Ramat Gan stadium which has recently seen shows by Leonard Cohen and Rod Stewart.

Explosion near bus station in Jerusalem

Early reports suggest that 25 people have been injured, three seriously after a bomb exploded in central Jerusalem. Al Jihad al Islami (Islamic Jihad) have reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack.

Hamas terror escalates at Gaza border

Violence continued to escalate at the Gaza border this morning as two more rockets and ten mortar shells were fired by Hamas terrorists into residential areas in the south of Israel, in Beersheva and Ashdod.

A 56-year-old man was injured in one attack, while three others were treated by doctors following the blasts.

Gene Simmons: Israel boycotters are fools

Gene Simmons has criticised musicians who boycott Israel.

The Kiss bassist said those who refused to perform in Israel for political reasons were “fools”.

Mr Simmons, whose mother was an Auschwitz survivor, was born in Haifa in 1949 as Chaim Witz.

He made the comments while in Jerusalem to film scenes for his reality show, the Gene Simmons Family Jewels.

Israel's ex-president Moshe Katzav sentenced to seven years

The former Israeli president Moshe Katzav has been sentenced to seven years in prison for rape.

In a dramatic scene, the 65-year-old cried and screamed after learning of his fate, shouting that the charges against him were a lie and that the courts had “made a mistake”.

After rocket barrage, IDF strike Hamas sites

The Israeli army has confirmed that it struck several terror sites in the Gaza Strip overnight, in response to the barrage of rockets fired at southern Israel by Hamas.

Hamas has fired more than 130 rockets and mortar shells across the border since the beginning of the year, including 56 in the last week.

Israel set for Katzav rape case sentence

An Israeli court is expected to announce a sentence tomorrow for former president and convicted rapist Moshe Katzav.

Mr Katzav, who was found guilty after a four year case on two counts of rape and other charges of sexual harassment, could face a 16-year prison sentence. However it is thought in that case that he will attempt an appeal to Israel's Supreme Court.

Speculation as Sarah Palin plans meeting with Netanyahu

Mrs Palin, who arrived in Israel on Sunday after a trip to India, is on a private visit, but her trip has fuelled speculation that she is planning her own White House bid.

Itamar killers 'set off alarm which was ignored'

For more than two hours, the killers moved undetected among the houses of Itamar.

They had climbed the electronic fence surrounding the settlements at 9pm, triggering a message to the local security centre.

A civilian guard was sent to check but saw nothing in the darkness, dismissing it as possibly an animal. He did not notify the nearby IDF outpost.
