Tel Aviv's most famous streets could soon be on Goolge Street View
Israel will be the latest country to get Google’s Street View, despite security concerns about the service.
According to Ynet, the Justice Ministry has approved the service which has been running since 2007 in the US and rolled out to Australia, South Africa, Japan and most European countries, including the UK.
Because of anxieties about how the system could be used by potential terrorists, the Justice Ministry asked Google to provide detailed clarifications about how the service would be built.
Some names of properties will be blurred and sensitive facilities will not be filmed.
The project, which involves Google’s “street cars” taking thousands of photos to piece together a 360 degree view of streets, has been controversial in many countries, with people concern ed that the service could be an invasion of privacy.
