Cheers for the chaplaincy
Nottingham alumni catch up with their ex-chaplain
More than 130 graduates enjoyed an evening of sushi, cocktails and magic in London to raise money for the University Jewish Chaplaincy (UJC).
Former students from around the UK, along with chaplains for London, Cambridge, Oxford, Durham and Nottingham, attended the inaugural alumni event to help UJC reach its annual fundraising target of £1 million.
The evening saw the launch of a drive asking alumni to donate "a coin a week" to the organisation.
Ian Kamiel, the UJC chief executive, said the hope was to rekindle the connection university-leavers had with the chaplaincy. He said: "This is key to securing the financial future of this vital service."
The next event will take place in spring 2011.
