The first ever inter-university Jewish quiz will come to a climax next week with the final of Jewniversity Challenge.

The Union of Jewish Students’ competition has travelled the country in an attempt to find the brainiest group of young Jews.

Four regional heats have featured 27 teams competing for a place in the final, to be played in Nottingham on Wednesday, March 6.

Newcastle and Oxford have already qualified for the showdown after winning their heats, which took place on February 20 in Leeds and Bristol.

The Midlands and London heats took place last night, with City winning in the capital and Birmingham securing a place from the Midlands heat.

JSoc teams also took part from Nottingham, Coventry, Leicester, Warwick, Cambridge, Imperial, LSE, Queen Mary, UCL, Kings, Middlesex and Surrey.

Prizes for the victorious team will include free flights to Europe.
