Former B team boss Craig Sandford returned to help Glenthorne win the east London derby in style.

He was joined on the scoresheet by Ryan Cole (2), Simon Bagel, Joe Grant and Zack Forbes.

Glenthorne B joint-player-manager Jordan Sapler told JC Sport: "It was a good team performance today, we battled and took most of our chances which was pleasing, and our defence was superb. Special mention to Liam who swept up everything that went past the centre backs.

"We scored an early penalty and from then we kept pushing and pushing, playing balls into the channels. It was pleasing that we didn't stop going forward as recently we have had a tendency to sit back.

"There's no doubt it was the most organised performance of the season and I'm proud of all the boys.

"Redbridge are a good technical side who passed it about nicely, but on the day our physicality and creation (and scoring) of our chances made a difference.

"It was nice to keep the second clean sheet in a row, even with a makeshift team that had an extreme of a 16-year-old and an over-45 playing."

RJC boss Jon Jacobs told JC Sport: "We were well beaten by a very good side. They will take a lot of beating this season and look strong all over the park.

"For my boys, this is a steep learning curve but we are working hard and will get our rewards as the season wears on."

DC Prediction: Glenthorne Utd B 2 Redbridge JC B 2
