Jewve boss Gabriel John breathed a sigh of relief after the transfer window slammed shut as he managed to keep goalkeeper Dan Cohen at the club.
Cohen was on the radar of at least one Premier Division club, but it was good to see the big man stay loyal to the club who needed a second mortgage to bring him to the club. Peter Odemwingie take note!
On Sunday Cohen will come face to face with one of his besties, Norstar's David Domb. Rumour has it the dynamic duo have been banned from several nightclubs after their antics up north and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top on Sunday.
Jewve will be looking to complete a league double over the Stars, whom they hit for six in September, before Cohen joined. James Alexander (2), Gabriel John (2), Mark Martell and Gab Saul fired the boys in black and white to one of their most emphatic victories of the season.
After the game, John told JC Sport: "Even starting with 11 again, we dominated the first 45, going in at half time 5-1 up. It was a strong performance, only tarnished when we got tired last 20."
Norstar manager Zack Gothelf told JC Sport: "We were left frustrated again by as defensive lapses. We were much better in second half and had we taken the wealth of our chances we could have come away with something from the game."
Jewve's home form has been erratic, while the Stars have won more than they've lost on the road, so this looks like one of those games that could go either way.
