Temple Fortune B got back to winning ways with strikes from Adam Glekin and Joey Glynne enough to see off Brixton.

A string of injuries and late withdrawals left Fortune's squad looking a little thin, but they battled to a crucial victory.

Glekin opened the scoring, heading home from close range after a scramble in the box.

Shortly before half time, a long ball over the top deceived the home defence and led to an equaliser for the visitors from Jason Lee.

The second half was well contested, with the deciding monent coming with around 10 minutes remaining. A header from Dave Sawyer was heading for the top corner, but was punched away by a Brixton defender. It looked as though it may have gone over the line, but after consulting with the linesman, the referee opted to give a penalty and send the defender off. Glynne stepped up to cooly send the keeper the wrong way and seal the points for Fortune.

Fortune No. 2 Adam Glekin said: "We were missing a few key men today but I thought we shaded it and deserved the win.

"It was a real team effort and shows we've got depth in the squad which should stand us in good stead for the rest of the season."

Brixton boss Daniel Selt told JC Sport: "For the third week running, we were involved in another very close match – both teams having chances throughout.

"The pitch was not great so it wasn’t the most elegant game of football you will see. Craig Draper and I believe we have definitely made some big strides over the last three weeks and with a bit more luck we think we would have got a much better result.

"On to next week and I don’t feel we are too far away from stringing a few nice results together."
