Faithfold C march on

Faithfold C completed back-to-back wins with Ben Simons and Dave Sherman on target in the 2-0 win over Boca at the North Herts Arena.

Boca Jewniors came away disappointed not to come away with a point on Sunday as Faithfold battled their way to maximum points.

In a tight first half where chances were few and far between, Faithfold went closet with a free-kick, but Boca stopper Ryan Monk pulled off a wonder save to tip the ball onto the bar.

Boca rallied and Anton Nyman went close on two occasions. First he went round the keeper but his shot was cleared off the line and he was then denied in a one-on-one after firing straight at the keeper.

Faithfold went ahead within a minute of the restart after Boca gave the ball away and Faithfold broke down the wing, crossed in and the first shot was deflected into the path of another Faithfold striker who just poked it into the net.

Faithfold doubled the lead soon after as Boca gave away the ball deep in their own half.

Boca huffed and puffed but failed to breach a well-drilled Faithfold defence.

Farrell Monk (Faithfold C) - left back - The returning brother had torrent of abuse from the home fans (dad and sister) but but in a fine assured display at the back

Save of the Match: Ryan Monk - free kick from 25 yards out curling into the top corner, but the Monk leaped like a salmon to tip it onto the bar
