Cats tear up in-form SPEC FC

The Cats dented in-form SPEC FC's promotion hopes with a stunning victory to boost their hopes of avoiding the drop in a real coupon spoiler.

A late winner from Joel Berwitz helped them hit the jackpot. Ashley Stokes (pen) and Ryan Kangisser were the other scorers.

Stand-in Catford manager Simon Wolfson told JC Sport: "SPEC showed at their place earlier in the season that they are a very good possession side and will punish any team who is not willing to compete for every ball. However, from the start we challenged for every ball and played a classic cat and mouse game, allowing SPEC possession and dropping deep, but then continuously hitting them on the break with pace and precision.

"The exceptional determination that was shown was illustrated by our winning goal two minutes from time, following a period of sustained pressure. If we can carry the attitude we showed into our next few games then Catford are going to start climbing this division to make a late promotion push."
