Ben Pole-axes Faithfold C

Another goal from Ben Polak earned Oakwood B their 10th win of the season as they edged past Faithfold C in Garston.

The decisive moment came when Polak finished with aplomb after a wonderful cross from Ben Myers was headed on by Matt Geey.

Oaks boss Ian Tussie told JC Sport: "Rosh Chodesh and a hard fought win for us today. We were very poor in the first half and despite having a goal disallowed for offside we rarely threatened. Things were said at half time, some home truths, some hairdrying and lots of pizza was thrown in the changing room.

"We changed the shape in the second half and our midfield got control of the game and the goal came on 50 minutes. We had chances to score the second to kill the game but couldn't take our chances but whilst Faithfold were always a threat on the break we defended brilliantly, and I cant remember them having a single clear cut chance. Stefan Isaacs and Eric Lewis outstanding at centre back and Adam Blin at his marauding best at left back.

"I'm happy with the win, it was a rotten day, freezing cold and we weren't at our best but hopefully we will look back at this over Shavuot and see it as a massive result."
